"Jerry Seinfeld and Julia Louis-Dreyfus had legendary on-screen chemistry during their time together on "Seinfeld". But as it turns out, they don't quite see eye to eye in real life."

Just on a personal note about this blog first.
The New Democrat has a history going back to 2014 when the modern political correctness movement broke, defending the First Amendment rights of comedians and other commentators, regardless of their politics, to say whatever what they want. Short of inciting violence, committing fraud, false advertising, ordering hits on their comedic and political rivals, etc. And then we leave it up to the marketplace, the people to be able to weigh in on what's funny, what's appropriate, and what's not, etc.
We do this because we're liberal democrats in the ideological sense. Meaning we're people who believe in liberal democracy, who promote it as much as possible and take on the opponents of liberal democracy, both from the far-left, as well as the far-right, who have real issues with individual rights, perhaps especially free speech.
Now having said all of that, I don't know Julia L. Dreyfus or Jerry Seinfeld personally. Like a lot of bloggers, I have to talk about them from a distance. But from following their careers as a fan, who watched Seinfeld every week when it was on NBC in the 1990s and years after that when it was on syndication, you can tell that these people have different career interests and motives.
Jerry Seinfeld has always been the comedian's comedian. And what I mean by that is he's always believed that has every comedian should and does have the right to joke about anything that they want. Especially since as he's said, jokes are just jokes. They're not real. And of course people can be offended by that, but the counterpunch that they have there is that they have a First Amendment right to express how they feel about the comedian that they believe uses hateful humor.
Julia L. Dreyfus, is simply an entertainer. She's someone whose going to follow the trends, especially the political trends. And since she's in Hollywood, it's cool right now to sound like you are on the Left who fights for the underdogs and willing to protect them from everything and everyone, including from themselves. Even if in private life, you don't believe in any of that leftist propaganda, especially as it relates to free speech.
You can see what happens to a lot of entertainers just since Donald Trump has come on the political scene just 9 years ago. I mean forget about sounding like you are on the far-right and you are a MAGA member. If you sound like you are even center-right, someone like a Jerry Seinfeld, that can cost you gigs and shows. But of course people like actor Dean Cain whose been in missing in action (so to speak in Hollywood) since 2016 or so. And of course Jon Vaught who is a full-long, Donald Trump MAGA man.
Again, I don't know Jerry Seinfeld or Julia Dreyfus personally. But this sounds more like a disagreement as it relates to style and image, as it does to what's appropriate and what's appropriate when it comes to comedy.
I think Seinfeld is about comedy and being a comedian and fighting for his right and the rights of other comedians to continue to do their jobs and not get cancelled, simply because a lot of young, overeducated, over-caffeinated, urban, coffee house hipsters, are offended by the comedians humor. Whereas Louis Dreyfus is about protecting her image with left-wing, urban hipsters in America.
