"Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has filed a trademark application for a biting insult she hurled against Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) during a House Oversight Committee hearing, extending a feud between two well-known members of the House.

Crockett’s campaign filed the phrase “bleach blonde bad built butch body” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Sunday. The expression references a remark Crockett directed toward Greene last week. While pressing Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on what constituted a breach of congressional protocol, Crockett asked, “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” 

Crockett plans to use the phrase “bleach blonde bad built butch body” for clothing items and accessories, including hats, hoodies, socks, and T-shirts. The move accompanies her “Crockett Clapback Collection” launch, which includes merchandise bearing the now infamous phrase. 

Greene responded to Crockett’s trademark application with a video of herself working out in a post to X.

“Yes my body is built and strong NOT with nips, tucks, plastic, or silicone, but through a healthy lifestyle,” she wrote in the post. “Soon turning 50 years old, God willing, I will continue to lift, run, swim, play sports, surf, ski, climb and LIVE this life to the fullest and enjoy every single moment!”

Crockett’s barb was in response to an insult Greene had directed at her earlier in the hearing. 

“I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” Greene said to Crockett. 

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) rushed to defend Crockett, saying, “I would like to move to take down Ms. Greene’s words. That is absolutely unacceptable. How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person?” 

Greene replied, “Are your feelings hurt?”

In case anyone is wondering why a blog that calls itself The New Democrat, would reference, quote, link, anything that the Washington MAGA news paper The Washington Examiner: well, as rare as it gets cold in Miami, Florida, or the sun and warm weather makes it's way to Seattle, Washington, it rains is Los Angeles, The Washington Examiner (which just happens to be one of our local newspapers) gets something right. 

If anyone on the right, even the center-right, put aside MAGA for a minute, but if Senator Mitt Romney called any Democrat, especially a minority Democrat, a anything like: "Bleach Blond Bad Built Bimbo", everyone of the left would call that person a homophobe, who hates gays, especially lesbians, and especially even more, dyke-lesbians. And that's what The Washington Examiner is right about. 

But since it's a fairly partisan, Texas, African-American, House Democrat, calling someone whose so far-right, that she might be able to make Liz Cheney, perhaps even Phyllis Schlafly, look like flaming moderates, Representative Jasmine Crockett becomes a political pop culture hero on the left.
