The New Democrat is primarily a current affairs blog. We are what's called Classical Liberals, (what we call the real Liberals) who were just called Liberals, pre-Cold War when terms like socialist and communist, even social democrat, were considered too risky politically for American leftists, even democratic leftists, to assume socialist, or even social democrat, as their political label. So they adopted Liberal and Progressive to describe their own personal politics. But the fact is they are Socialists, (democratic and otherwise) ideologically.

The New Democrat is a center-right, liberal, (or classical liberal, if you prefer) blog. And that's my personal politics as well. But I also blog about and specialized in Libertarians, libertarianism, what I would call at least the Libertarian Right in America, who are similar to Liberals when it comes in the belief in limited government, personal, as well as economic autonomy. But who are actually small government people, who would probably eliminate as much as government and taxation as possible, if they were ever in power.
