"A few things to start off: sorry for the late reply. It took me a month to wrap my head around this. And secondly, I would like to suggest a few corrections for how you read my piece.

“I get the sense that if Socialists were ever in charge in America… straight men and male heterosexuality, would essentially be outlawed.” Oh come now even you know that’s dishonest. At no point do I discuss the law or government action. I’m not a fan of the government, why would I want more laws? Instead of your doomsday prediction I advocated for regulation of how we act in effort to change our social norms. So ya know, how culture works.

“I also get the sense at The Politics of Writing that author of that piece believes that it’s not just straight men that are the problem, but what he calls white straight men that are the problem and represent everything that’s wrong”

Ooh wee that’s a hell of a claim. It’s an odd one, since the word “white” only appears in the writing when I describe myself. Disingenuous at best. There are masculinity problems in both white and black communities, albeit they are distinct concepts of masculinity and have unique histories. The point is what I am talking about is more pervasive than that, I don’t just point the finger at white people.

Also yes, misogyny and bigotry still exist in the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, etc. It shouldn’t exist there anymore than it exists here. Unique experiences all across the globe, weird how that works.

Also while I’m at it I’m just going to point out that my piece was incredibly minor in that I spent my time discussing how we should think about our daily actions around other people. I didn’t even attack the institutions that uphold that oppression, that which would be most precious to bring down if we were to actually solve the problem of misogyny. Cheers."

"My point about Socialists, is tongue and cheek. Socialists and perhaps you’re one of them, especially radical feminists people who call themselves Marxists-Feminists with their “end of men” concept, and arguing that men ( straight men, at least ) don’t matter give the impression that if they were ever in charge, life for straight men ( perhaps especially Caucasian men ) would be very difficult.

Sort of how life for women in Saudi Arabia or other theocracies is already very difficult, at least compared with men. And how life for women would become hell for them, if the Christian-Nationalists were ever put in charge in America. As far as my piece that I wrote in response to yours: I still stand by everything that I wrote."
