As my colleague Rik Schneider said about this on Tuesday:
"I think Charlie Sykes is damn right when he said: "Donald Trump is in the "fuck you" stage of his life". He simply doesn't give a damn (and you can use your own word) about what anyone thinks about anything that he does in his life to personally enrich himself. And why not, if you are a crook like him and there's nobody in town to hold you accountable:
The Congress is essentially MAGA controlled.
The Justice Department, is essentially his Justice Department, thanks to his own Attorney General Pam Bondi.
OK, the Federal courts, including the Supreme Court are standing up to President Trump, but they're not going to anything when it comes to the President's own crookery. That's the job of Congress and DOJ and we all know who controls those institutions right now.
As Jeffrey Behar said about the Washington swamp: "Trump Never Wanted to Drain the Swamp, He Wanted to Rule It". And that backs up what Sykes told Matt Lewis:
"Donald Trump is in the "fuck you" stage of his life"
We knew Donald Trump was a crook and criminal a year ago... actually, 10 years ago as far as him and as a crook and 4 years as far as him as a criminal. And voters who paid attention to his life and career the last 10 years, knew that as well. And a lot of those voters knew that anyway, but voted for him anyway. So they have nothing to complain about. And I don't have anything left to be surprised about when it comes to this man, because I know him too well, at least from the outside of his life."
From The New Democrat
Just when I thought Chris Cuomo was irrelevant, useless, even boring... (which is about as bad as anyone can be in modern America) saying that "Donald Trump is not a populist", makes me want to reconsider my opinion of the brother of the next Mayor of New York City. But not for very long.
So look, if you have a brain, you are currently sober, you are sane, you've lived in America that last 10-15 years and have been following the news about Donald John Trump... hell, you just got out of a mental hospital today and have been paying attention the news for a while, even while you were inside... you already know that Donald J. Trump is not a populist. But not only that, you also know that:
Fire is hot
Water is wet
Concrete is hard
Cocaine is bad for you
Drunk driving is not just bad for you, but the rest of the community as well.
If you've been paying attention so far, all you need to know that Donald J. Trump is not a populist, is:
Have a brain
You need to be sober
You need to be sane
Lived in America the last 10-15 years and have been paying attention to the news about Donald J. Trump
Even if you just got out of a mental hospital, today... and I'm not talking about being fired, but you were institutionalized there, but you've had access to the news for a while you were inside, you know that Donald J. Trump is not a populist as well.
So what is Donald John Trump?
So back in 2008-09, the economy was crashing in America and Bernie Madoff was in the news a lot for his Ponzi scheme that screwed a reported 41,000 people out of their investments and savings. So Donald Trump got 75 million votes (give or take) in 2016, 80 million in 2024. Do the math: 80 million people, is a helluva lot more than 41,000. You could say that Donald John Trump is the Bernie Madoff of American politicians... at least President's.
But if you voted for The Donald 3 times from 2016-2024, unless you are a millionaire, or billionaire, who is currently not serving time in prison right now, or just gotten out of prison... it's not just the Trump voters who've never met the man... your average, everyday, Joe and Mary Average Americans, who voted for Donald Trump, who were worst off 4 years after the first Trump presidency and are worst off now, then they were 8 years ago. but it's the people that worked in Donald Trump's political Ponzi scheme, who are also victims of his.
And I'm also talking about people who've served time in prison for DJT, who are part of his 2nd administration, who are still part of his political Ponzi scheme, who are also victims of Donald John Trump. And the Steve Bannon's, the Peter Navarro's, and others who went for prison for The DJT, will never recover from The DJT Experience.
So sure, I could call: "Donald John Trump: The Bernie Madoff of American politicians", but that would be an insult to Mr. Madoff. And unlike President Trump, I don't speak ill of the dead. At least not in public.
