President Donald Trump Declares Joe Biden's Pardons As Invalid

"Donald Trump and his administration have been losing in court after court, trial courts and appellate courts, from coast to coast. 

His latest loss: an appeal court refused to put a stop to Trump's administration being ordered to rehire federal employees that were wrongfully terminated. 

So of course, Trump tries to distract everyone from his unrivaled losing streak by prattling on about how pardons issue by Joe Biden are invalid because (he asserts without any evidence) an autopen was use to sign the pardons. 

Here's just one of the problems - Donald Trump's own Department of Justice has on its website information that puts the lie to Trump's "autopen" claim."

"The “Pardons” that Sleepy Joe Biden gave to the Unselect Committee of Political Thugs, and many others, are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen. In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them! The necessary Pardoning Documents were not explained to, or approved by, Biden. He knew nothing about them, and the people that did may have committed a crime. Therefore, those on the Unselect Committee, who destroyed and deleted ALL evidence obtained during their two year Witch Hunt of me, and many other innocent people, should fully understand that they are subject to investigation at the highest level. The fact is, they were probably responsible for the Documents that were signed on their behalf without the knowledge or consent of the Worst President in the History of our Country, Crooked Joe Biden!"

If you voted for this man for President in 2024, you are getting what you voted for. So if you want to scream... scream at a mirror. If you don't like what you are getting for your vote. 

I don't want to sound like we're rubbing it in here on The New Democrat (even though that's exactly what we are doing) but Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's decision not to block the House government funding bill, looks a lot better on Monday than it even did on last Friday. 

Instead of the mainstream media talking about a Schumer government shutdown today, they're talking about the latest authoritarian, dictatorial, actions of President Donald J. Trump. (If you voted for this man, or didn't vote at all, you can't blame us) 

Here's a look at the presidential pardon power: 

"The Constitution establishes the President’s authority to grant clemency, encompassing not only pardons of individuals but several other forms of relief from criminal punishment as well.1 The power, which has historical roots in early English law,2 has been recognized by the Supreme Court as quite broad. In the 1886 case Ex parte Garland, the Court referred to the President’s authority to pardon as unlimited except in cases of impeachment, extending to every offence known to the law and able to be exercised either before legal proceedings are taken, or during their pendency, or after conviction and judgment.3 Much later, the Court wrote that the broad power conferred in the Constitution gives the President plenary authority to 'forgive’ [a] convicted person in part or entirely, to reduce a penalty in terms of a specified number of years, or to alter it with certain conditions.4

Despite the breadth of the President’s authority under the Pardon Clause, the Constitution’s text provides for at least two limits on the power: first, clemency may only be granted for Offenses against the United States,5 meaning that state criminal offenses and federal or state civil claims are not covered.6 Second, the President’s clemency authority cannot be used in Cases of impeachment."

It's not up to Donald John Trump or anyone else by themselves to decide which parsons are valid and which aren't. The Constitution does that. We're more than free to either agree or disagree with them. But that's not the same thing as unilaterally eliminating them. Not only that, but Congress and the courts can't throw them out either. 

So instead of the mainstream media or even the Democratic Party for that matter discussing how will a government shutdown would end, what's Chuck Schumer's and the Senate Democrats next move here to dig themselves out of their own political hole that they would've created for themselves, the media is talking about President Trump claiming that President Biden's pardons are invalid and saying they are voided (which he can't do) and the fact that consumer spending in this country was 0.2% in February, as talks of recession are still around. It's easy to see why the left-wing of the Democratic Party is never in charge of anything that's important in Washington, especially in the Democratic Party.
