From the David Pakman Show
As my colleague Kire Schneider wrote on Friday, which feels like 4 days ago:
"I just want to make 1 point about something that Ben Meiselas said here and then I'll get into Donald Trump's looming, small crowd size, that of course he'll probably lie about as soon as gets to The White House after his inaugural.
Ben Meiselas seemed to suggest that Donald Trump was expressing some concern about how the arctic cold weather could affect his supporters at his inaugural in Washington this Monday, which is why this event will be moved indoors in the Capitol. The problem with that is that he Donald Trump had an outdoor rally in Las Vegas back in June where it was like 110 degrees that day and this is what he said about that:
"We need every voter. I don't care about you, I just want your vote...
From The New Democrat
I think David Pakman is damn right here. This was all about Donald Trump freaking out about his outdoor inaugural being probably well under 100,000 people. (Which in a city like Washington that has probably 1.5 million people inside the city everyday, is a small crowd, for an inaugural) And I guess he didn't want to spend he first few days of his presidency lying about how big his inaugural crowd was.
President Trump's small crowd yesterday would also explain his low-energy, lackluster speech yesterday, where he sounded more like a hostile witness on the witness stand, just trying to get through his testimony. Instead of a man who was just sworn in as President of the United States for the 2nd time in 8 years. You would think someone would be ecstatic about that.
But Donald Trump is not a small time player. He plays to his crowd and when it isn't very large (like at an indoor presidential inaugural) his energy and enthusiasm tends to be lacking.
