"CNN political analyst and New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman and CNN legal analyst Elie Honig react to a report from ABC News that Donald Trump’s former chief of staff, Mark Meadows, was granted immunity by special counsel Jack Smith and has met with federal prosecutors multiple times in their investigation into the efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election."

Imagine a man trying to walk a tightrope to try to get to Paradise. He makes just one little slip or loses his balance (perhaps he drank too much before he got on the tightrope) he's doomed and will probably fall to his death. And in Mark Meadows case, that will be his political death, meaning his career in elected public office is now over. Because either he works with the prosecutors and tells them everything that he knows about his last 3 months as White House Chief of Staff that the prosecutors want to know, about what he knows, or he ends up in state or Federal prison as a 64-65 year old man, perhaps looking at 10 years in prison.
Again I'm not a lawyer, (also in the news: it gets cold at the North Pole) but as Ellie Honig whose a career prosecutor will tell you, prosecutors don't give out immunity like its Halloween candy. And I would add that prosecutor offices are not supermarkets, looking to get rid of their Halloween candy in November, selling everything at half price.
Mark Meadows wants to stay out of prison, which seems to be more valuable to whatever political future that he might still be contemplating. Which is very understandable, since he's a man whose now in his mid 60s. And apparently he has what it takes to stay out of prison, by telling the prosecutors what he knows about the Trump White House's and Trump Campaign's attempt, to overturn the 2020 presidential election, as if it didn't happen and just declare Donald Trump the winner.
