Goldfinger: James Bond Meets Pussy Galore (1964)

“I must be dreaming…” On this day in 1964 Honor Blackman filmed her scene where the no-nonsense Pussy Galore wakes up Bond on board Goldfinger’s jet in GOLDFINGER. Blackman said: “It was actually my first day of shooting on the film and I was highly nervous.”

On the surface, you might think that Pussy Galore (played by Honor Blackman) is simply too damn cute to be hooked up with terrorists and criminals and to be flying them around, as well as their hostages. But Honor Blackman was a terrific actress and made it work because perhaps people thought she was too damn cute to be a bad girl. Too cute to scare a mouse and therefor could fool a lot of people. Perhaps even master spy and ass-kicker James Bond.

These two had great chemistry from the beginning of this scene and you see it right away with them exchanging humor the way that they did with Pussy saying: "You can turn off the charm, I'm immune." With Bond if anything just being more charming and humorist.
