CNN: The Source With Kaitlan Collins: Maggie Haberman: 'This Issue Has Been Worrying Donald Trump’s Team For Months'

Source:CNN talking to New York Times national political reporter Maggie Haberman.

"New York Times reporter and CNN senior political analyst Maggie Haberman tells CNN’s Kaitlan Collins about the fundraising obstacles former President Trump is confronting in his campaign."

From CNN

"Donald Trump, who is urgently seeking a cash infusion to aid his presidential campaign, met on Sunday in Palm Beach, Fla., with Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest men, and a few wealthy Republican donors, according to three people briefed on the meeting who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe a private discussion.

Mr. Trump and his team are working to find additional major donors to shore up his finances as he heads into an expected general election against President Biden. Mr. Trump has praised Mr. Musk to allies and hopes to have a one-on-one meeting with the billionaire soon, according to a person who has discussed the matter with Mr. Trump.

It’s not yet clear whether Mr. Musk plans to spend any of his fortune on Mr. Trump’s behalf. But his recent social media posts suggest he thinks it’s essential that Mr. Biden be defeated in November — and people who have spoken to Mr. Musk privately confirmed that is indeed his view.

With a net worth of around $200 billion, according to Forbes, Mr. Musk could decide to throw his weight behind Mr. Trump and potentially, almost single-handedly, erase what is expected to be Mr. Biden and his allies’ huge financial advantage over the former president."

Even with all the personal and legal baggage that is surrounding Donald Trump, if his likely bankruptcy wasn't one of those issues and he was actually the billionaire that he's been claiming to be really his whole entire business career, or at least time as a professional celebrity, instead of someone who can't even come up with 83 million dollars on his own, (which is actually just a chunk of change for an actual billionaire) Donald Trump could close his financial gap with President Biden fairly easily. He could write his campaign a check for 100 million, or whatever he needed to make up the financial hole that he has with the Biden Campaign.

But, since we now know that Donald Trump is not only not a billionaire, but someone who before all these financial and legal problems, was worth maybe 200 million dollars, instead of the 6 billion that he's been claiming for at least the last 8 years and he has over 550 million dollars in judgements, that he either has to pay, or go bankrupt, (unless a real billionaire bails him out) as well as the fact that Mr. Trump is really just running for President to stay out of prison and get back at the people who've been doing their jobs reporting the actual facts about  him, really since he was President, if not before, Donald Trump's personal life and lack of personal discipline, has been writing checks, that he'll probably never have the money to pay for.

By May of 2024, one of the major political party presidential nominees, will be a bankrupt, convicted felon. And I'll give you a clue: it won't be the current President of the United States. And for Donald Trump to even keep his presidential campaign going, while struggling to keep his legal pacs going to fight all the cases against him, he's going to have to rely on a national suckers convention (also known as MAGA) to pay his bills for him. And most of his political base, are hard-working, blue-collar, small town, workers and voters, who work hard just to pay their own bills. Who don't have unlimited funds, especially to try to pay the bills of someone who claims to be a billionaire.
