David Von Pein: CBS News Special Report- Eric Sevareid: 'Presidents and Assassins, November 25, 1963'

Source:David Von Pein- CBS News Special Report from Eric Sevareid.
"PRESIDENTS AND ASSASSINS" (CBS NEWS SPECIAL REPORT AIRED ON NOVEMBER 25, 1963)"

From David Von Pein

This CBS News Special Report, was just 3 days after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. This was all very new with if not most Americans, but certainly a lot of them. Maybe only the oldest people in America remember William Mckinley being assassinated in 1901 and people who would have to be in their early hundreds at this point to remember President Abraham Lincoln being assassinated in 1865. And to remember President Lincoln being assassinated in 1865 and to still alive and to remember that in 1963, you would need one helluva healthy mind and perhaps body as well.

Source:David Von Pein- CBS News Special Report
And since this was all so new with most Americans and with network news not being the dominate factor in America media in the early 60s that it had become by the early 70s with the Watergate coverage and President Richard Nixon's administration, Americans weren't use to seeing these special reports from the networks devoting so much air time to covering current affairs especially during prime time when most networks back then were showing their family entertainment like sitcoms, dramas, variety shows. Forget about 24 hour news networks not being around yet in the early 60s, network news other than the morning show and nightly news wasn't much of a factor yet by this time.

Source:Assassination of John F. Kennedy- CBS News Special Report
The JFK assassination changed America a lot as far as how it operated and changed both our government and culture as well. The President got a lot more security with the Secret Service now becoming a major factor not just in the President's life, but his family as well, and ex-president's and their families. Americans started becoming more interested in current affairs with the networks newscast moving from 11 minutes a night to 22 minutes a night ( not including commercials ) and with nightly newscasts expanding, special reports and documentaries that were produced by the network news divisions themselves like CBS News for CBS, because a regular part of TV network viewing in the 1960s.

This CBS News Special Report by Eric Sevareid, is something that today you would probably see from PBS, CNN, perhaps MSNBC or FNC, but probably coming from a real slant. C-SPAN or one of the 24 hour documentary networks like National Geographic Channel today because the broadcast networks don't want to donate even a hour of their time at night to showing a current affairs or history documentary and take that time away from one of their hit sitcoms or dramas, especially when there's PBS, one of the news networks, or the documentary channels like History and others that show this type of programming all day and all night everyday and every night. But post-JFK assassination up until really the 1990s or so documentaries and Special Reports about one particular subject that was going on in the country at the time were shown by the networks on a regular basis back then.

Jack Ruby: Lee Harvey Oswald Assassin

Source:Britannica- Dallas nightclub owner and perhaps part-time Dallas Mafia assassin Jack Ruby.

“Jack Ruby, in full Jack L. Ruby, original name Jacob Rubenstein, (born March 25?, 1911, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.—died January 3, 1967, Dallas, Texas), American nightclub owner who killed Lee Harvey Oswald, the suspected assassin of Pres. John F. Kennedy, on November 24, 1963, as Oswald was being transferred to a county jail. Despite Ruby’s claims to the contrary—and a lack of evidence—some have posited that he was part of a larger conspiracy concerning Kennedy’s assassination.”

From Britannica

“The image of Jack Ruby firing a pistol at Lee Harvey Oswald – the man arrested on suspicion of carrying out the assassination of US President John F Kennedy – is one of the most famous of the 20th Century.

We speak to Dallas Times-Herald photographer Bob Jackson about his Pulitzer Prize winning picture.”

From BBC News

"Jacob Leonard Rubenstein - Jack Ruby - Conspiracy." Originally from Mob Video Vault, but the video has been deleted or blocked on YouTube.

Source:Mob Video Vault- Dallas nightclub owner and part-time gangster Jack Ruby.

There all sorts of wild eye conspiracy theories ranging from the Far-Left people who think either Vice President Lyndon Johnson or the CIA, perhaps Far-Rightists in Dallas who hated President John Kennedy because of his stances on civil rights, as well as people on the fringe Libertarian-Right who believe the CIA murdered President Kennedy, to people on the Far-Right who believed multiple Communists including Lee Harvey Oswald murdered President Kennedy, conspiracies that sound like they're not just from out of this planet, but from a different universe. Perhaps aliens from Planet Zolkon (or whatever the hell sic-fi fictional planet would be called) looking down on Planet Earth and seeing what's going on in Dallas, Texas in America in 1963 when President Kennedy is assassinated, with their own wild eye conspiracy theories.

Some of these crazy conspiracy theories are from crazy people, or at least people who lost touch with Planet Earth and are now doing their thinking on other planets. But some of these conspiracy theories are simply just made up in order to profit from them. Sell books, articles, documentaries, movies, etc.

And I'm thinking of Roger Stone on the Libertarian-Right who has floated the conspiracy theory that Vice President Lyndon Johnson, ordered the assassination of President Kennedy. To the Oliver Stone's of the world on the Far-Left, who claim the JFK assassination was an inside job conducted by the National Security State either the CIA or FBI, was behind the assassination of President Kennedy.

As well as people on the Far-Left who believe that racist Southern right-wingers in Texas, were responsible for President Kennedy's assassination.

The only alternative theory to the official U.S. Government theory being that Lee Harvey Oswald was not only the killer and assassinated President Kennedy, but he was all by himself and had absolutely no help, is the theory that organized crime especially the Italian Mafia in Dallas and perhaps Chicago as well, Chicago especially who hated President Kennedy and the Kennedy's Administration's crackdown on organized crime in America led by Attorney General Robert Kennedy, were behind the assassination of President Kennedy.

A credible theory is that the Chicago, as well as Dallas Mobs believed that if they didn't take President Kennedy out, they could be out of business all together in the 1960s because the Justice Department would put them out of business.

Bob Kennedy and his Justice Department, deserves a lot of credit for putting the Italian Mafia out of business in America. Not completely but they're no longer powerful in America. They're also responsible thanks to the FBI, for the Ku Klux Klan being as weak as they are now as well.

The best alternative theory out there is that Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin in the JFK assassination and wanted President Kennedy dead because Kennedy as a Liberal Democrat was a strong anti-communist.

But that since the Italian Mafia also wanted Kennedy dead not because they were Communists because of course they weren't, that they worked with Lee Oswald to assassinate President Kennedy. And that perhaps there was a freak out once the assassination was completed either from Lee Oswald who is now in jail at this point because of his crime and it's now sinking into him what he actually had done, or the mob is now freaking out because they're worried that Oswald will talk and implicate the Dallas Mafia and perhaps Chicago Mafia's into the JFK assassination as well.

Jack Ruby who was a Dallas nightclub owner and businessman, but who had ties to the Italian Mafia in Dallas and perhaps Chicago as well, murdered Lee Oswald just days after President Kennedy is assassinated. He murders Lee Oswald and is arrested for it  literally right after he kills Oswald and was literally able to just walk up to Oswald and shoot him in the chest.

How was Jack Ruby able to kill Lee Oswald? Why was the Dallas PD security so weak when attempting to move the loan suspect in the JFK assassination from the Dallas jail to the court house?

Jack Ruby had connections not just with the mob , but with cops on the Dallas PD. So maybe he's able to pull this murder off because his friends on the police force let him in to get the clearance to shoot Oswald. Whether this is true or not we of course don't no, but it is a reasonable theory and alternative to the official theory that Lee Oswald was all by himself in assassinating President Kennedy.

Helmer Reenberg: Video: The 1963 Meeting in Jack Ruby's Apartment

Source:The New Democrat

Apparently there was a meeting in Jack Ruby’s apartment in the Dallas area the day after the JFK assassination. And even if we do know who was at that meeting, we don’t know what that meeting was about. Only the people there know and at least one of them is dead, that being Jack Ruby. Here’s what we do know. Jack Ruby knew Lee Oswald prior to killing Oswald. Ruby not only had associates who did work for the Italian Mafia and perhaps other organized criminal gangs in Dallas. Oswald hated Jack Kennedy, the Mafia hated Jack Kennedy and Ruby was one of their associates and killed one of the men who knows most of it not the whole story surrounding the JFK assassination. Which leaves people including myself to speculate do we know everything about this assassination and how many people exactly were involved. Did Lee Oswald have help, or was he by himself.

Documentaries Forever: Video: PBS's Frontline, Lee Harvey Oswald

This post was originally posted at The New Democrat on WordPress

I think Robert Blakey had the best line about Lee Harvey Oswald in this film. Where he said “Lee Oswald was a mystery inside of a riddle, wrapped around an enigma.” I think he was exactly that, which is why you can see why someone who was pretty intelligent, born growing up in a liberal democracy that America is and yet he decides to defect to Soviet Russia. The largest and worst totalitarian country the world has ever produced. Why would a mentally healthy intelligent person do that. He obviously wasn’t all there upstairs and perhaps saw things that weren’t there.

In his entire twenty-four years on Earth, he had at best a handful of friends, including his wife who was from Russia. He moves to Russia and figures out fairly quickly like any intelligent person would that hadn’t been brainwashed, that Russia and their Soviet system, might not be the best way for him to live. That even a devout Communist or Marxist needed some personal and perhaps even economic autonomy over their own affairs. And comes back to America in the late 1950s early 1960s when Fidel Castro’s Communists had just taken over Cuba. And learns about Castro’s Cuba and decided that maybe the Castro communist system was the way to go.
And this is the time that the Dwight Eisenhower Administration was cracking down on Castro’s Cuba and imposing all sorts of economic sanctions on Cuba. Move into 1961 with Jack Kennedy becoming President of the United States and the Kennedy Administration taking a tough hard-core stance against both Russia and Cuba and now Oswald knows which side he’s on. He likes Cuba’s communist system and doesn’t like America’s liberal democratic system and gets in bed with Communist Cuba. I think its obvious why Oswald assassinated President Kennedy. The question is, was there anyone else involved in the plot to kill Kennedy. Or was Oswald by himself.
Oswald assassinated Kennedy because of the Kennedy Administration’s crackdown on Communist Cuba. Including having the Russian missiles removed from Cuba. Jack Kennedy, Liberal Democrat. Lee Oswald and Fidel Castro Marxist Communists. According to Oswald, they couldn’t live in the same world together for communism to flourish the way he believed it could. Oswald wasn’t going to assassinate Fidel or commit suicide. Which meant that according to him Jack Kennedy had to go. Now the only question is was there anyone else behind the plot.

The Lip TV: Video: Byod With Ondi Timoner, Dimitri Logothetis On Why Sam Giacana Killed JFK

Source:The New Democrat

One of the followers of this blog is a big fan of JFK assassination conspiracy theories and is currently reading a book that has its own theory of the JFK assassination. So I think he might like this and is welcome to comment on this post and let us know what he thinks about this. As far as Dimitri Logothetis about Sam Giancana ordering the assassination of President Kennedy, before anyone calls Mr. Logothetis a whack job or anything like that, he’s only putting a theory out there. And admitted in this interview that the only people who know how many people are responsible for the JFK assassination are all dead.
Again these are theories, some of them are nutty and baseless in fact. Like the fact that Far-Right racists and radicals in Dallas murdered Jack Kennedy and did it by themselves. Or that Vice President Lyndon Johnson murdered the hit on Kennedy. Or the CIA and perhaps the FBI as well ordered and perhaps even did the hit themselves. But at least one of them has real hard evidence around it and that is the one I’m going with about the Italian Mafia and that they had a lot to gain with President Kennedy being killed. They had the motive, the opportunity and the people to do it. And the fact that Jack Ruby was connected with them and that Ruby was also connected with the JFK killer Lee Harvey Oswald before the assassination, just backs this theory up.
Dimitri Logothetis is not saying that he knows that Sam Giancana and his crew murdered President Kennedy. What he’s saying is that based on all the evidence that he’s seen, that he believes that is the most likely scenario. And who better a patsy than Lee Oswald and Jack Ruby. I mean who would miss those two people. Oswald hated Kennedy and didn’t have anyone around to miss him. Ruby was one of the Mafia’s men and who associated with them, hung out with them and did business with them. And plus he was already dying before being sent to prison for killing Oswald. So these things add up and are worth considering as far as how many people may be responsible for the JFK assassination.

Bibleo Traditions: Video: The Men Who Killed Kennedy, 1988

Source:The New Democrat

I’m already there as far as believing that Lee Harvey Oswald wasn’t alone in assassinating President John F. Kennedy. I don’t know that is the case, but I think there’s enough evidence to suggest that is the case. But as far as who actually shot President Kennedy, we already know that and that person is Lee Oswald. And for anyone who believes the shooter wasn’t Oswald, or there was another shooter, they have an obligation it seems to me if they are going to make those views public to produce evidence that suggest they are right.
We’ve heard conspiracy theories suggesting Lee Oswald was not only the shooter, but someone from the CIA or organized crime shot the President. But have yet to hear who those people might have been. We’ve ever heard theories that Vice President Lyndon Johnson was behind the plot to assassinate President Kennedy. But haven’t seen or heard any evidence to back that up. The reason why I believe the theory suggesting that Oswald wasn’t the only person in this plot goes to Jack Ruby and who he was connected to and the fact that Ruby shot and killed Oswald. And that organized crime also wanted President Kennedy dead.

JFK News 1963: NBC News- Coverage of The Oswald Shooting

Source: JFK News- NBC News, covering the shooting of Lee H. Oswald in 1963
Source:The New Democrat

More like NBC News live coverage of the Ruby-Oswald shooting or what would be called today, raw news coverage. NBC News trying to cover a somewhat disorganized chaotic scene back in 1963. As the reporter said, just another chapter in story that doesn’t seem real. First a President of the United States being assassinated in a car with Secret Service all around him. Then the man who assassinates the President being killed himself by a local nightclub owner/mobster Jack Ruby. Which just created a bunch of new questions after speculation had already begun about whether or not Lee Oswald was alone with his murderous plot, or did he have help. I believe he had help, but we still don’t know that and two of those reasons why I believe, are because both Lee Oswald and Jack Ruby died before we could find those things out.

James Stark: Video: Conspiracy, Why Did Jack Ruby Kill Lee Harvey Oswald?

Source:The New Democrat

The only tragedy I believe of Jack Ruby killing Lee Harvey Oswald, is that if destroyed a possible great opportunity to figure out how many people were involved to assassinate President John F. Kennedy. Was it just Lee Oswald that was part of this murderous plot, or did he have help from Dallas organized crime factions and perhaps the Italian Mafia in America. That is the real crime that Jack Ruby is guilty of, at least as I see it. I don’t see Oswald being killed as a tragedy in any other sense. I don’t enjoy seeing people being killed. But was Oswald was garbage and he assassinated a U.S. President.

I don’t think it is a stretch to say that since Lee Oswald was killed by someone with organize crime factions and if anything a mobster himself who works with Italian and Jewish mobsters, that he was also put up by the Mafia to assassinate the President. And that since he was caught in the crime, that now he’s a threat to bring down the people who put him up to the assassination. Because he has his own life to save and doesn’t want to take the fall for this murderous plot all by himself.
The problem that I have is that I just have a theory, an educated theory, but still a theory. And one person that could’ve shed light on this was killed himself, before he had much of an opportunity to share with the rest of us, was he meaning Oswald alone in this. Or did other people put him up to it and paid him to do the operation and financed the assassination themselves.

Roger Sharp Archive: Video: ABC News Talking to Jack Ruby's Lawyers in 1963

Source:The New Democrat

The Jack Ruby case had to been fascinating and one of those cases that I bet just about any hard-working good defense lawyer would want to take. Because it was not clear if Ruby was guilty of actual murder, at least not first degree murder and for at least a couple of reasons. One, Ruby didn’t kill and innocent person. He killed Lee Harvey Oswald, but he killed the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy. It is clear now and perhaps even when Ruby Killed Oswald, that Oswald at the very least had something to do with the JFK assassination. Not saying Ruby is innocent here, just saying it is not first degree murder. And I believe you could’ve easily of gotten it down to second degree murder, twenty-five to life. Or first degree manslaughter is twenty-years, twenty to life. And you could’ve made a pretty good case for temporary insanity on Jack Ruby’s part.

Roger Sharp Archive: ABC News Late Wrapup of The Ruby-Oswald Shooting

Source:Roger Sharp Archive- ABC News anchor Roger Sharp, anchoring ABC News's coverage of the JFK Assassination.

"Following the deaths of President John F. Kennedy and his assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, ABC Correspondent Roger Sharp anchors late coverage recapping the events of the day.  Features Correspondent Bill Lord in the field. (November 24, 1963)"
ABC News was still not a major news operation yet. CBS News was the biggest TV news division at this point at least in America. Thanks to the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. And NBC News with Meet The press and the Huntley Brinkley Report was its closest competitor at this point. But ABC News did the best job that they could even being buried in the ratings and with limited resources. And this like with CBS News and NBC News was the biggest story they ever had. I can honestly say I don’t believe Jack Ruby shooting and killing Lee Oswald was a bad thing and no I don’t consider it murder. Because of course Oswald hadn’t been convicted of assassinating President John F. Kennedy yet. But he is obviously the shooter of Jack Kennedy, the man who assassinated JFK. And he would’ve been convicted of that crime.

Roger Sharp Archive: 'Roger Sharp On JFK50: Oswald/Ruby Wrapup'

Source:Roger Sharp Archive- ABC News correspondent Roger Sharp.

"Following the deaths of President John F. Kennedy and his assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, ABC Correspondents Bob Walker and Roger Sharp anchor primetime coverage recapping the events of the day.  Correspondent Bill Lord interviews the detective who had been escorting Oswald when the latter was shot by nightclub owner Jack Ruby. (November 24, 1963)"
I guess this is easy to say 50 years later, but even back in late 1963, you would have to think the Dallas PD would know exactly how important Lee Harvey Oswald is and that they would do everything that they could to make sure nothing bad and illegal happens to him while he's in their custody. There should've been no public presence at the attempted transfer of Lee Oswald from the city jail to the county jail. That whole area should've been blocked off from the public.

Ragma Loka: Killing John F. Kennedy (2013) Starring Rob Lowe

Source:Ragma Loka- Rob Lowe as President John F. Kennedy, during his last days alive.

Source:The Daily Press
"Recounting the chaotic events that occurred in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963, PARKLAND weaves together the perspectives of a handful of ordinary individuals suddenly thrust into extraordinary circumstances: the young doctors and nurses at Parkland Hospital, Dallas' chief of the Secret Service, an unwitting cameraman who captured what became the most watched and examined film in history."
From Ragma Loka
I saw bits and pieces of this movie and I didn’t think it was very good. Which is probably why I only saw bits and pieces of it. I’ve caught a little more of it when it has come back on with its repeats.
The movie about Kennedy from Reelz in 2011, I thought was much better and perhaps that is why they covered the entire Kennedy presidency, at least his years as President. And I thought Greg Kinnear did a much better job playing Jack Kennedy than Rob Lowe.
In late 2013, the last few months there were several movies about JFK because of the fiftieth anniversary of the JFK assassination. Including a film from PBS about the life of JFK, which was the best of what I saw.
Killing Kennedy is fairly interesting, but it really just about the last year or so JFK, including the Bay of Pigs fiasco in 1962 and the Cuban missile crisis. And this movie doesn’t go into great detail about John F. Kennedy as President.
What you see in this movie, is the stuff that is better suited for tabloid news and tabloid news fans. The women of JFK including his wife Jackie and of course all the affairs that President Kennedy had, including in the White House and including with women with dangerous organized connections. Including Judy Exner and Lee Oswald’s last year or so leading up to him assassinating President Kennedy. This movie I would give a 7.5 or 8, but it’s not a great movie.

Helmer Reenberg: House Minority Leader Gerald Ford & NO District Attorney Jim Garrison in 1967

Source:The FreeState

Gerald Ford was already the House Minority Leader by the time these interviews were done. And was put on the Warren Commission by President Lyndon Johnson because he was trusted by Congressional Democrats and Republicans and seen as a responsible intelligent Republican. Who would seek the truth and not try to score political points from the investigation. But looking back now I think these conspiracy theories especially centering around Lee Harvey Oswald not being either the sole assassin, or the only person involved in the JFK assassination, doesn’t look so crazy fifty-years later. And I believe Jim Garrison looks like a more credible figure now. And that it looks possible, reasonable that someone other than Lee Harvey Oswald was behind the JFK assassination.

President John F. Kennedy: Last Speech at Ft. Worth Prayer Breakfast Before Being Assassinated (1963)

Source:FRS FreeState

Liberalism at it's core, forget about classical versus modern and classical liberalism is not libertarianism and so-called modern liberalism is a form of progressivism or democratic socialism, but liberalism at it's core is about individual freedom. And government's number one and only job is to protect individual freedom for those who have it and still deserve it. Meaning that haven’t hurt any innocent people.
And expanding individual freedom for those who don’t have, but need and deserve it. Through things like education and job training, empowering those who need it to get themselves the tools and skills that they need in order to live in freedom like the rest of the country. Liberalism is not about the state especially the Federal Government and that government needs to be big enough tax enough to have the resources to take care of people. Because it doesn’t trust individuals and the private sector to be able to make their own decisions for themselves.
Liberals believe that individuals once they are educated and have all of the important information available and that there are the right rules in place to prevent people from abusing innocent people and punish people when they do, that the individual more often than not will make the right decisions for themselves. Especially better than government doing that for them. Because the individual knows what they need and what they want to do in life. Not government especially when its far away from the individual.
Liberalism is not about economic freedom or social freedom or political freedom or equal rights. But its about individual freedom that covers all of those things. That individuals have the right to live their own lives as they see fit. That is adults have this right as long as they aren’t hurting innocent people with what they are doing. Liberals aren’t pro-state or anti-state, not pro-big government or pro-small government. But pro-good government that's limited to only doing the things that we people need it to do that we can’t do for ourselves or can’t do as well.
I know I’m being vague on what I expect and want government to do. But that's on purpose because this is not a Liberal Manifesto where I layout what are all of the liberal positions on every single policy. But to layout what Liberals believe at our core. That our philosophy is about individual freedom, pure and simple. That the number one and only job of government is to protect our freedom. For those of us who have it and still deserve it. And for those of us who don’t have it but need and deserve it.
Like I said so-called modern liberalism which is more statist and perhaps not even Liberal at all, "that the number one job of government is to protect people even from themselves, which is why it needs to tax and spend and limit individual freedom for our own good . So we don’t mistakes with our own lives". Like with the New York City soda ban that was just thrown out, this is not liberal, but a form of progressive statism.

David Von Pein: 1964 Interview With Karen Carlin

Source:The Daily Press

Perhaps one of the most famous nightclub employees of all time. I don't know much about Karen Carlin and maybe that is because that there isn't much to know about her. But what I get is that she was an attractive women who worked for Jack Ruby at Jack Ruby's nightclub The Carousel in Dallas. And worked there simply because she needed the money. But that she's not someone who has much if any information about Jack Ruby. Other than Ruby might have shot Lee Harvey Oswald the assassin of President John F. Kennedy. She simply worked for the man and only worked there because she needed the money. Because he husband had a hard time holding a good job.

You have to know that this whole story had to do with the assassination of an American President. John F. Kennedy who was President of the United States. This was so very new to most people in the country and the first presidential assassination that was covered in the electronic age with network TV and network news. And any person that might of had some connection to someone who was a big part of this story was automatically seen as suspect, or at least as a potential suspect. Karen Carlin, not only knew Jack Ruby the killer of Lee Oswald who assassinated the President, but she worked for him. Which meant that people automatically assumed that she must know something important about this story.

Helmer Reenberg: Video: Gerald Ford, Hale Boggs & Richard Nixon on The JFK Assassination, November 23rd, 1963

Source:The Daily Post

Representative Ford and Representative Boggs, basically giving their feelings about how they felt about the JFK assassination and how they felt about the incoming President Lyndon Johnson who was President Kennedy’s Vice President. Representative Ford basically saying that President Johnson was going to get what is called a honeymoon period in American politics. That House Republicans at least were going to see what the new President has in mind for the country and how he plans on moving forward. And that House Republicans were ready to help President Johnson at least in the beginning with anything that they can. And they helped President Johnson quite a bit in the 88th Congress with tax cuts and the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

David Von Pein: Bedside Interview With Jack Ruby (12/16/1966)

Source:FRS FreeState

The Jack Ruby episode is a perfect example of why so many conspiracy theories came about after the John F. Kennedy assassination. Because first an American president is assassinated and then the assassin, or at least accused assassin is shot and killed as well. And left many Americans to believe that this is too unreal and can't be natural acts. And that something is up that would explain these crazy activities from happening like forces in the Federal Government working to see that Jack Kennedy and Lee Oswald are killed. Because they saw Jack Kennedy as a threat and that Lee Oswald knew too much about not only the assassination itself, but the all of the powers associated with the JFK assassination. And didn't want their power and control to be threatened.

We'll never know the full story of what Jack Ruby knew about this case, because he died three years after the JFK assassination. And we might already know everything that he knows about this case. But Jack Ruby and his associations with organized crime figures in Dallas and the hatred that the Italian Mafia had for President Kennedy and his administration leave a lot people wondering if they put Ruby up to killing the President, because they didn't want Oswald to talk. The only conspiracy theory that has any credibility whatsoever that leaves intelligent sane people like Robert Blakey who worked for the House Assassinations Committee wondering if someone other than Lee Oswald was involved in the JFK assassination is the possible organized crime connection.

CBS News: CBS News Bulletin: JFK Assassination Coverage 11/22/1963

You hate to have something like a presidential assassination, or any assassination really have to be the test of the quality of your news coverage or not. But unfortunately greatness only tends to come in times of tragedy and when you're tested. Times of war and being under attacked, when riots are going on, a death in the family, someone being out of work like your father, or another close relative and you don't know what the future is going to look like and you fear for it. But unfortunately that is how humans tend to operate. When we're not tested we tend to be somewhat lax and go back to our everyday normal activities.

And I think our network coverage from CBS News, perhaps especially as they were our biggest news operation back then and NBC News and even the much smaller ABC News, they were all really tested without precedent in how you cover a tragedy like this. No precedent in how you cover a presidential, or any other assassination in the electronic age of broadcast news and network news. All they had is the training and resources that they had to work with at the time. Which was make sure their people are on the story and getting the information needed and make sure the network executives are giving you the network air time to cover the story.

The JFK assassination is not the only reason why Walter Cronkite is America's newsman and why we haven't seen a network news anchor as good since. But it is certainly a reason, because you really got to see how professional and great he was and had to be and couldn't afford any mistakes. You also got to see his human side especially when he announced the death of President John F. Kennedy. And you got to see how hard of an announcement it was for him to make. Cronkite, personally knew Jack Kennedy and personally liked him. So it must have been announcing the death of one of your friends on live on national TV. With millions of people watching you and he did it as well as it could've been done.

JFK Assassination Fed Myth

Source:FreeState Now

President Kennedy, who is my number one political hero as a Liberal Democrat, was assassinated, because he was an anti-Communist. Who was opposed to Fidel Castro and the Communist Republic of Cuba. Thats why he was assassinated at least as it relates to Lee Oswald. And if there were other people involved, like the Italian Mafia, they were opposed to him because Attorney General Bobby Kennedy's opposition and War on Organized Crime. JFK, was seen as a threat and an enemy, to the both the Far-Left, meaning Communists, in and outside of America. And the Far-Right, for his support of civil rights, equality, helping people in need and I'm sure other reasons. And of course the Italian Mafia in America. Because President Kennedy, failed to remove Fidel Castro and his Communist Regime, who eliminated their casinos from Cuba.

These warped ideas, from both the Far-Left and the Libertarian-Right, that Jack Kennedy, was assassinated by the CIA, or perhaps the National Security Council, or Vice President Lyndon Johnson, are exactly that. Which is warped, with no real foundation behind any of those theories. Jack Kennedy, was President of the United States and was assassinated during the middle of the day during a parade in downtown Dallas, Texas. The only way you assassinate a man as powerful and well-protected as the President of the United States, is through private means. Someone who knows where the President is going to be and where he is. Who has a reason to do it and knows exactly what they probably be giving up. Lee Oswald and perhaps people who helped him, had that access and the tools and ability to carry out the assassination.

David Von Pein: WFAA-TV News Dallas: Lee Harvey Oswald Has Been Shot

A crazy month November, 1963. First the President of the United States, Jack Kennedy is assassinated. The National Football League suspends its games the following week and then the man who assassinated President Kennedy, is killed himself. It sort of looked like the world was coming undone and perhaps the last time that president’s were allowed to be that open and vulnerable in public. And that security was even tightened for people suspected of killing high-profile people whether they are politicians, or other celebrities.

Great books and documentaries have been made about these stories and the Federal Government thought they figured out how to deal with people who are so intent on assassinating politicians. But they let someone slip through in 1981, when John Hinkley was almost successful in murdering President Reagan. When the President was leaving a hotel, I believe the Mayflower in Washington. All of these events have made the American presidency less public and more closed to the American people.

A lot of people, columnists like George Will and others say and believe that the 1963 JFK Assassination was the end of the 1950s. And that assassination brought in the radicalization of the 1960s. And brought in a fairly violent decade. I and others would argue that a lot of that radicalism was necessary at least as it had to do the with civil rights movement and then later the anti-Vietnam War movement. But a lot of people were simply murdered in this decade that no one except for perhaps the haters of those murder victims see as positive things. Like President Kennedy, Dr. Martin L. King and later Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
