That was an interesting week for the NFL Week 14 of the 1977 season because it was the last game George Allen in Washington coaching the Redskins, and obviously they lost this game because they didn't make the NFC Playoffs in 1977. It was also a week when teams like the Dallas Cowboys were looking to lock up the 1977 season with momentum going into the NFC Playoffs with home field advantage on course to winning their second Super Bowl by beating the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 11.
